The second week we needed to make sure we had all the stuff for our trip. Some good news! We both have our California drivers license. Before we left to the states I tried to get my Dutch one but because of the nerves i didnt made it. But i did in CA! and we found out if you stay longer than 3 months in the states you need a driving license here. So Tim also got it! It is a pretty good deal here... just 33 dollar and you can do your written exam 3 times and you driving exam. In Holland you pay much more hahaha. So it is kind of cool that i can drive here!

We also visit Liz. She lived at my moms place when my mom was 8 years old or something. It was so nice to see her. It felt i knew her my whole live already. We are meeting a lot of beautiful people here. it is so nice and we feel welcomed by everybody.

Than our road trip finally started!! We drove to Zion National Park. after getting some information we thought: lets do the two day hike the next day, the hike is down the virgin river in the canyons. So we got the our permit and everything ready. The total hike was 16,3 miles long that is about 26 KM. the first day was about 6 hours they said to us but we walked for 8 hours. It was so beautiful that we enjoyed so much. It felt like we were walking in a postcard photo or something. It didnt felt real. The canyons were beautiful, two big walls next to us, some really close. we walked in the river all the time, so it was heavy.
We passed some beautiful places, a nice waterfall, the narrows and one of the nicest things we saw was this really big deer. It was a male with big antlers. he looked so peaceful and nice. he was just walking there and looked at us and walked further. We were both speechless. Our campsite was up at the river and we had a great view. We were really tired of the long walk but we knew we had to walk one more day.
The second day we walked for 7 hours. and still we were in this beautiful nature. Nature does something with you and we cant tell you what. I cant even tell you how beautiful it was, you need to experience it yourself. and we can recommend it for sure. It was an adventure with walking trough water, making sure you dont fall and sometimes even putting our backpacks on our head because the water was too high.
The end of the trail there were a lot of people. because you could do a one day walk up the river. it was crazy to see a lot of people after 1 and a half day of rest. but it was a WOW WOW and WOW trip!

We stayed two more days in Zion NP and did some walking but also a lot of resting. Now we are in a small city Grand Junction for two days to chill and sleep in a bed haha. Tomorrow we leave to Rocky Mountain National Park and we are really looking forward. We are hoping for a nice hike overthere.

Now we are going to drink some beers in downtown Grand Junction!
